Zijn hier gebruikers van de beta versie ? Zelf heb ik het niet gebruikt, maar ben wel benieuwd naar hun ervaringen....

Ik ben zelf de Béta gebruiker, vind het een zeer ruim programma met veel verschillende opties. Het gaat veel dieper dan Camera-raw plugins.

zelfs slideshows kunnen hierin bekeken worden aan de hand van je foto's.
Ruis corrigeren werkt naar mijn gevoel beter dan in Camera Raw.

in 1 woord vind ik het een Top programma.

Ik heb het ook al en tijdje in gebruik.Werkt prima met veel naar mijn mening intuitieve programma's.
Ga zeker de oficiele versie aanschaffen, aar dan weleerst een nieuwe comp..want er is wel wat geheugen voor nodig.Een behoorlijk zwaar programma.

Lijkt dit eigenlijk niet al een behoorlijk aantal functies over te nemen van Adobe Photoshop Album, wat bij Elements in zit? Het aantal bewerkingen dat je uit kan voeren is misschien wat minder. Het lijkt eigenlijk niet zoveel nieuws onder de zon.

Misschien betere RAW-ondersteuning. En kan dat programma ook sensorstof uit je foto verwijderen in een batch proces (stofje blijft op dezelfde positie, alleen aangeven waar het te clonen gedeelte zit)?

Het zal op een gegeven moment nog wel meer functies krijgen en dan Elements vervangen.

Het programma heeft een uitgebreide bibliotheek functie met een zeer handige en snelle sorteer functie dmv het snel toekennen van 'keywords'.
Een zeer goede RAW converter met een goede curve functie voor contrast.
Een Slideshow die de RAW files aankan en je kan direct RAW files printen.
RAW files die ik geconverteerd heb met dit programma hoef ik nauwlijks nog te behandelen met CS2.
Ik converteer ze alleen naar JPG, de Beta converteert ze alleen in TIFF, behandel ze met Noise Ninja (is veel uitgebreider dan de Lightroom noise converter) en verscherp ze.
Ik vind het een zeer goed programma. Aanrader!

Ik ben ook al een tijd een grote fan van Lightroom . Erg gebruiksvriendelijke interface en erg krachtig. In de vroege beta's was het nog wat traag, maar de laatste beta gaat heel wat sneller, en v1.0 zal dat wellicht nog ietsje beter maken. Waar ik in de beta nog naar Photoshop ging om stofjes te verwijderen, zal ook dat niet meer nodig zijn, want in de v1.0 release zit cloning en healing. Wellicht heb ik Photoshop nu nog enkel nodig voor mijn frames (wat ik toch al in batch doe, dus dat maakt niet heel veel uit).

Voor de mensen die nog niet bekend zijn met Lightroom heb ik hieronder een overzichtje geplaatst van alle features van Lightroom zoals die aangegeven staan op de website. Ik raad je aan om de Video-tutorials eens te bekijken om wat 'feeling' te krijgen met het programma.

1. Import
Video Tutorial: Import your photos into Lightroom (SWF - 7:22 mins)

• Robust tools to handle large shoots: Speedily process high-volume shoots by automatically importing images whenever media cards or cameras are connected to your computer. Then automatically rename files, organize folders, and make nondestructive adjustments as images are imported.

En voor de mensen die de beta's al geprobeerd hebben. Dit is wat er nieuw is in v1.0 ten opzichte van beta 4.1:

1. Import

• Import Previews: The Import dialog now has a preview window similar to the Library grid allowing you to select only certain files to be imported.
• Library Export Presets: One click export options for quick output to email, ftp, etc.
• Auto Import Refresh (!!!): Auto Import refreshes the view to show the most recently imported file.
• Adobe Camera RAW compatibility: When V1 is shipped on the 19th, ACR 3.7 will be released giving interoperability between the two.

2. Manage

• Metadata Browser (!!!): Search in Lens, Camera, Creator, Date, File Type and Location.
• Toolbar: Press T for the toolbar to access Ratings, Flags and a host of other tools.
• Virtual Copies (!!!): Create different looks to your image with no disk space overhead.
• Stacks: Bundles similar images together. There is an Auto Stack by Capture Time Feature.
• Folders (!!!): The Library now reflects the hard drive. Moving files and folders in LR will move them on the drive.
• Flagging: You can rate an image as Pick, Unflagged or Reject.
• Labels: You can now apply a colour Label to a file.
• Cmd/Ctrl Del change: Rather than sending to trash or recycle bin, this now brings up a dialog to remove or delete Reject images.
• Filters in Filmstrip: You can now select any combination of Rating, Flag and Label in the Filmstrip.
• Quick Develop additions: QD has blacks added, along with collapsible sections and large increment options.
• Keyword Sets: You can now create sets of keywords relevent to events, people, assignments etc, for quicker keywording. The keypad is used to assign the keywords.
• Library Backup (!!!): In Preferences you have a large number of options to backup the Library automatically.
• More sort options: Extended list including filename, aspect ratio and flags.
• Survey View: Multiple images can be viewed and rearranged in this new light table feature.

3. Develop

• More Zoom options: You can now zoom from 1:4 to 11:1.
• Spot Removal (!!!): You can Clone or Heal spots and blemishes. The tool operates with a circular selection area only.
• Red Eye Reduction: Lightroom allows you to remove red eye.
• Target Adjustment Tool (!!!): You can click-drag up and down in the image to affect Tone Curve, Hue, Saturation, Luminance and Greys using this tool.
• Develop Pane On/Off: You can swtich off each pane in Develop.
• HSL additions: There are now 8 sliders per section: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Aqua, Blue, Purple and Magenta.
• Color: The HSL tool has a little brother in the Color tool. 3 sliders for HSL and the same 8 colours as HSL in clickable blocks.
• Crop improvements: You can now click-drag to crop as in Photoshop.
• History and Snapshots: These are now separate Panes. Making a snapshot no longer clears History. You can clear the History list without resetting the image.

4. Present

• More Web Templates: A lot more HTML and Flash Templates.
• More options: Many more options including Add Copyright Watermark

In the “didn’t make it” category we have:

• Photo Binders: With a need to change how it operates, a descision was made to leave these out.
• Shoots: As a shoot could be a virtual or real location on the drive, it was too confusing for most.
• Filter Pane: This is replaced by the filters in filmstrip and the Find Pane.

[EDIT] Was uit het oog verloren dat de prijzen excl. BTW zijn... Dus dat heb ik even aangepast, alsook de prijs voor RawShooter gebruikers bijgevoegd (thanks, Ron. ).

Erg plezierig dat je bewerkingen in Lightroom non-destructief zijn.
Wat ik wel mis is een USM filter hierin, daarvoor moet je toch weer naar photoshop.

Voorheen gebruikte ik rawshooter, dat wordt nu lightroom. Super!

Toegegeven, USM doe ik ook in Photoshop nog steeds, maar dan ook met een scriptje.

Mijn workflow op dit moment is de volgende:

Schieten --> laten ontwikkelen --> inscannen --> importeren in Lightroom --> bewerken in lightroom --> exporteren --> in photoshop met actions noise reduction, resizen, sharpening en frame er rond in 1 klik.

Over een maandje hoop ik het laten ontwikkelen en inscannen achterwege te kunnen laten als ik digitaal ga .

Aanvullend op de studentenprijs: SurfSpot gaat LightRoom ook voeren, maar prijzen zijn nog niet duidelijk. Ze gaan in elk geval proberen een zo scherp mogelijke prijs uit te onderhandelen.

Klopt, ik had ze gemaild, maar hun antwoord in mn email over het hoofd gezien ... verschijningsdatum bij surfspot is helaas nog onbekend... nieuwsbrief in de gaten houden maar!

Ik heb ACDSee nog nooit gebruikt, en Bridge een enkele keer. Maar van wat ik kan lezen op internet door te googelen op 'compare lightroom bridge acdsee' heb ik de indruk dat Lightroom inderdaad een alternatief kan zijn voor ACDSee, terwijl Bridge eigenlijk een Lightroom is zonder de fotobewerking (toch?).

Lightroom blijkt volgens sommigen wel een stuk krachtiger te zijn qua fotobewerking ten opzichte van ACDSee en zou een betere interface hebben. Zelf vind ik Lightroom één van de meest gebruiksvriendelijke, aangename en mooie interfaces hebben die ik ooit gezien heb. Dit in groot contrast met Bridge en Photoshop die ik qua interface nog steeds alles behalve prettig vind. Zoals je al aangeeft werken Lightroom en Photoshop inderdaad nauw samen. Je kan met een druk op de knop een foto die je in lightroom geselecteerd hebt, in Photoshop gaan bewerken. Van zodra je daar op 'Save' klikt, wordt de foto in Lightroom aangepast en kan je daar terug verder gaan bewerken.

Ik zou zeggen... probeer de beta eens uit, of vanaf 19 februari de trial versie en 'see for yourself' . Je kan ook eens de video's bekijken die ik hierboven gepost heb.

Lightroom blijkt vooral beter te zijn qua resolutie (wat daar ook precies mee bedoeld mag worden in deze vergelijking), handling (gebruiksvriendelijkheid?) en snelheid.
