Er zit verschil in borg en eigen risico.

Eigen risico zou ik helemaal af willen kopen met extra verzekering. Borg heb ik geen problemen mee. Krijg je toch terug.

Denk ook dat verzekering zonder eigen risico belangrijker wordt ervaren. Bij de reguliere verhuur is de borg vaak 10x de prijs van de daghuur.

Het doel van de borg is om het eigen risico te dekken van de verzekering mocht er aanspraak op de verzekering gemaakt moeten worden. We zouden graag onze lenzen verhuren zonder eigen risico, maar we moeten stappen zetten om onze investering te beschermen. Verzekeringen zonder eigen risico zijn niet beschikbaar in Nederland, omdat verzekeringsmaatschappijen het risico te groot vinden. De meeste verzekeraars willen ons niet eens een offerte geven. Tot nu toe hebben wij slechts 1 offerte ontvangen na 3 maanden lang overleggen met veel verschillende verzekeringsmaatschappijen. Ik (Terry) kom uit Engeland, en ik ben verrast hoe duur en hoe moeilijk het is om een verzekering te vinden. In Nederland merk ik dat er minder keuzemogelijkheden zijn en flexibiliteit is. Als een klant zelf een verzekering wil afsluiten om het eigen risico te dekken, dan kan dit natuurlijk altijd (als dit beschikbaar is).

Zelf huur ik nog wel eens wat bij budgetcam, uitgebreid assortiment en rekenen géén borg.

Esther is away for a couple of days so I'll write in English - I don't want to torment you with my bad Dutch
I have just received this week an alternative insurance proposal. It is proving unexpectedly difficult and expensive to obtain adequate insurance cover for this business. Almost all insurance companies have declined to offer a quote due to the perceived risks involved. This is surprising to me as insurance of this nature is readily available in the UK.

The problem with an on-line rental business is fraud. Though 99% of customers may be completely honest and trustworthy, it is the 1% who are not that can destroy the business, and my livelihood along with it.
It will be necessary to use a payment system where the customers address can be verified. IDEAL payments do not offer this facility, so a credit card or other payment system may be necessary for this purpose. It is something that I am investigating right now.
Though things are progressing more slowly than expected I am now able to move things along as the insurance issue has (probably) been solved-I still need a lawyer to examine the proposal.
I tried to obtain a better deal with various local and national courier companies. Nobody was interested. I received only one response. Their quote was outrageous-I thought it was a misprint. How about 150 Euro delivery to Amsterdam, each way?
It is certainly proving a challenge, arranging these when I have only a basic grasp of Dutch. I have been trying to teach myself with a Rosetta Stone CD, It's going in the bin.....

Budgetcam, Calumet, Kamera Express etc do not offer a delivery service, which is the whole point of my business.

A deposit will not be actually charged. It is simply a payment authorisation placed on a credit card and will only be deducted in the event that a customer makes an insurance claim. It is to cover the insurance excess (eigen risico) which is 250 Euro.
I think this is quite reasonable on a 2000 Euro + objective, don't you?

I know Terry, but in my case it is not interresting to rent somewhere else, Budgetcam is just around the corner.

In elk geval word het een heel stuk interessanter daardoor Sparkie.
